What if I have pain during a workout?

Understand when to stop exercising and what to do if you experience pain.

Exercise should feel challenging, but it should never cause pain.

If you experience pain during a workout:

  • Stop the exercise immediately.

  • Take a break and assess how you're feeling.

  • Try modifying the movement or reducing the range of motion.

  • Skip the exercise if it continues to cause discomfort.

If the pain persists, worsens, or you're concerned about your symptoms, stop exercising and consult your healthcare provider before continuing.
